Goal and description of the activity
Sailing is the most suitable activity to improve the reciprocal knowledge and to become aware of the different roles in a team.
For these reasons, sailing has a big tradition with team building activities.
When two boats are available, it is possible to train the coordination of the team to achieve a specific target.
The goals of the team building activity are:
• Create and improve the attitude to become a group
• Become aware of the capabilities of the members of the staff
• Manage and harmonize the different behaviors
• Identify the elements of a successful team
• Develop a sense of membership
In order to achieve the goals, we propose the following activities (*):
• a lesson to introduce to sailing principles and the fundamental rules of a match race regatta
• the creation of teams, each composed by four persons
• the racing of regattas (if needed preliminary heats are raced)
• at the end of the regattas a party with an award ceremony will be given. Each participant will receive a T-shirt and a CD with the photo reportage of the day
A professional skipper will be present on each boat
On the race area a motorboat will be present to monitor the race and to make a photo reportage.
In order to speed up the event, if three or more teams are created, the motorboat will be used for the rotation between groups.

Boat description
Sailing activities will take place on two J80, modern and fast sailboats, suitable to learn the principles of sailing or to have a fast cruise on the lake.
Technical features of J80 are:

An average day
The following activities will take place in an average day (*)
9.00 am / 9.30 am: welcome and description of the day
9.30 am / 10.30 am: sailing lesson and rules of navigation
10.30 am/ 12.00: lunch and teams formation
12.00 am / 13.00 am First regatta
1 pm / 1.30 pm rotation of teams
1.30 pm / 2.30 pm: second regatta
2.30 pm / 3 pm rotation of teams
3 pm / 4 pm third regatta
5 pm: award ceremony and final party
